A Visit to Legoland Florida

Come one, come all families looking for fun in the sun with their small children in Legoland’s newest located in Winter Haven, Florida.  This theme park is located about 45 minutes from Walt Disney World, situated on the old Cypress Gardens grounds. Visitors are invited to still roam the Cypress Garden area which has been updated.

Basic – The theme park offers a variety of games, attractions, and play areas specific to children under 12 years. The park is situated with the younger children’s attractions in the front of the park, while the older children’s fun is located in the back. The cost for getting in the park is $75 for adults and $65 for children. Parking costs are $12 per vehicle. Be sure to call before you go as there are often discounts available to save you money off of the costs of admission. Their number is 877 350 LEGO.

Toddlers – The front of the park is geared towards toddlers. The top attractions for the toddlers include the the Grand Carousel (a double decker carousel) and Duplo Village’s Junior Fire Academy (children play as a fireman to put out the fire made of lights). There were a few areas to play for children in Duplo Village. Here you can also find a baby care center as well as a room for toddles to play and build using Duplo blocks.

Young Children – Moving through the park, the rides move towards older toddlers or young elementary school children. A play area invites children to large slides, climbing areas and lots of hidden fun. The attractions include the Land of Adventure’s Safari Trek (a ride in Lego off road vehicles through the dangerous roads to include loads of Lego safari animals) and Lego Kingdoms Royal Joust (a horse ride providing kids the ability to joust on their own around the track).

Older Children – In the back of the park, older children will love the Lego City’s Rescue Academy (where team work and muscles gets the job accomplished of putting out the fire before the your competitors) or the Imagination Zone’s Lego Mindstorm (where you can build cutting edge Lego robots).

My family’s observations – We noticed that the park was great for small children. If you have small children and are great with watching as your child has a great time, this is the park for you! The children who spend hours playing with Legos will be in heaven here’s! The entire park is decorated with the Lego bricks.

The park works with children, giving them places to build Legos while the parents wait in the line for the attraction. Most of these play places are visible for the parents while standing in line. However, some are not. While this did give the children plenty to do, the parents often times noticed that the lines do not move as efficiently as they should. However, the park is quite new. With time, these kinks may work their way out.

The grounds are beautiful. The entire park is so squeaky new! The Miniland USA captured all of our imaginations with the details offered by the various famous cities created with Lego bricks. The fun will make everyone want to head home and begin building your very own Miniland USA!
